NEW YORK, NY – Noriaki (Dick) Sano, former Managing Director of Film Distribution of Sony Pictures Releasing International will receive the Lifetime Achievement Award at CineAsia, Wednesday, 7 December during the Sony Pictures Releasing Product Presentation at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre.

Sano joined Sony Pictures Entertainment Japan in November 2005 and for 11 years, led the Studio’s Film Distribution team to success before retiring earlier this year. Sano managed some of the most successful film releases for the Studio, including Dan Brown’s The Da Vinci Code, the incredible series of Spiderman movies, the four latest James Bond films and the Resident Evil film series.

“Hard working and respected by everyone in the industry, Sano’s record in the region speaks for itself,” said Andrew Sunshine, Vice President of The Film Expo Group. “He has had a tremendously accomplished career and we could not have thought of a more deserving Lifetime Achievement Award recipient for 2016.”
