Jon Landau to Receive “CineAsia Visionary Award”

NEW YORK, NY– Jon Landau will receive the CineAsia Visionary Award on Thursday, December 8 at the Grand Hyatt Hong Kong. The award is being presented to him for his significant contribution to some of the most successful, forward thinking and progressive pictures in the history of film.

“It is with great pleasure that we honor Jon Landau with the CineAsia Visionary Award,” said Andrew Sunshine, Vice President of the Film Expo Group.  “He has brought audiences around the world exciting and new characters and has produced the top two highest grossing films of all time.  We have no doubt he will continue this trend with upcoming projects and look forward to seeing what he brings to the screen next.”

Academy Award and two-time Golden Globe winning producer, Jon Landau, is known for having produced the two highest grossing movies of all time at the worldwide box office, Avatar and Titanic. In the early 90s, Landau was Executive Vice President of Feature Film Production at Twentieth Century Fox and throughout his career has been very instrumental in the licensing and marketing of his films across all platforms globally. Landau is known for and continues to bring innovation, diversity and showmanship to the marketing and licensing process.

The combination of Landau’s thorough understanding of the most complex state-of-the-art technologies, his ability to work hand-in-hand with the highest caliber of creative talent, and his motivational ability has enabled him to play a significant role in numerous major motion pictures. Some titles include: Honey, I Shrunk the Kids, Dick Tracy, Titanic, and Avatar. Landau has also received many accolades throughout his film career including, two Golden Globe Awards, an Academy Award, and many others.

Landau is currently producing Alita: Battle Angel and four Avatar sequels while working with companies and individuals throughout the entertainment industry to push technologies to new levels that will allow new stories to be told and then presented in more engaging and immersive ways.
