NEW YORK, NY – Licnio Manay, General Director of Manfer Films, will receive this year’s “Career Achievement Award” at ShowEast. Manay will be presented with this special honor as a part of the International Awards Luncheon on Tuesday, October 18 at the Fontainebleau Miami Beach.
The first annual Career Achievement Award will be presented to an industry member who has made significant contributions to the industry through their accomplishments, breakthrough developments, dedication and more over the course of their career. “We are delighted to present the first Career Achievement Award to Licnio Manay for his remarkable career over the past 50 years,” said Andrew Sunshine, Vice President of The Film Expo Group. “He has truly earned a reputation that now extends into the US market.”
Former CEO and founder of Manfer Films, Manay has proven executive management track record and over 50 years of experience driving sales growth in the cinematographic industry. Manay started working for 20th Century Fox Peru in 1966. In 1976, Manay was promoted to General Manager Bolivia where he was responsible for running all facets of the business operations for Warner Bros., Disney, Columbia Pictures and Fox during the toughest economic, political and social years.
Manay was also Founder and former President of the local Exhibitors and Distributors Association where he spearheaded the release of 7 of the all time top ten biggest industry records. The releases included, Captain America: Civil War, Avatar, Ice Age, Avengers, Avengers: Ultron Age and the Star Wars franchise. During his tenure, Manay also released the first 3D and Digital film in territory, Bolt. Manay has received 11 Critics Local Awards for Best Films released. Due to his remarkable experience and success in the industry, Manay’s words are always highly considered across the market when making decisions in the industry.
