NEW YORK, NY – Joe Chang, President, Ambassador Theatres, to receive the “Exhibitor of the Year” Award at the CineAsia Awards Ceremony on Thursday, 13th December 2018 at the Grand Hyatt, Hong Kong.

A 30 year veteran of the industry, Joe Chang has served as President of Ambassador Theatres since 2001. Joe started his career with Ambassador Theatres in 1988 as an Operations Manager and spent the next 30 years intricately involved in many major industry changes including the transition to digital, implementation of online and mobile services, and expansion of content from around the world.
Under Joe’s direction, Ambassador Theatres expanded to twelve locations and is scheduled to open five new locations by 2023. Joe believes the theatrical experience is the best way to enjoy movies and is always looking for ways to improve it. Under Joe’s leadership, Ambassador Theatres was the first exhibitor in Taiwan to install 3D with Dolby 3D, motion seats with D-Box, immersive sound with Dolby Atmos, as well as being the first exhibitor in Taiwan to implement online bookings.
In addition to his role at Ambassador Theatres, Joe is also the current Chairman of Taipei Theater Association, which is the organization that advocates for and supports exhibitors throughout the country. As Chairman of the Association, Joe has opened communications with the governments that addresses multiple industry issues, strengthen relationships with distributors, and identified numerous initiatives to improve and support Taiwan exhibitors.
